Hon. Philip L. Woodworth
He served as a Kansas District Court Judge in Johnson County from 1969-1993. As District Court Judge, he conducted numerous settlement conferences in areas of negligence, product liability, commercial and real estate disputes, insurance, malpractice, construction and domestic relations. Since retirement from the bench he has conducted private arbitration and mediations as well as court-annexed mediations in the United States District Court for the District of Kansas as well as Kansas District Court at Johnson, Wyandotte and Leavenworth Counties.
Professional Activities
After law school he was in general practice at Mission, Kansas where he served on the city council, as municipal judge and city attorney. He was a member of the Kansas House of Representatives for two terms. Woodworth attended the National Judicial College at the University of Nevada and was a member of the adjunct faculty of Johnson County Community College for ten years. Memberships include Johnson County, State of Kansas and the American Bar Association.
Education
He received his law degree from the University of Missouri at Kansas City.
